GOLF AUSTRALIA INSURANCE FOR MEMBERS
Information on various types of insurance is provided on the Golf Australia website (https://www.golf.org.au/financial-insurance), but of particular relevance to members of PSWGL clubs (which are affiliated with Golf Australia), is the Players Personal Liability Insurance Policy maintained by Golf Australia for the benefit of those members. Simply, this policy covers members for personal injury or property damage they may be liable for while playing or practising golf, or while attending a golf event or venue as a player, guest or spectator. The policy document and claim form can be downloaded from the Golf Australia website as above.
The Players Personal Liability Insurance Policy does not cover members for injury caused to them by others. A separate policy is required for this cover and we suggest individual members discuss this with their club or facility they play at. Several types of insurance which may be of benefit to golf clubs can be obtained from GolfWA’s preferred insurer Nexus Risk Services whilst individuals may also be covered through their own insurance. PSWGL strongly recommends clubs and individuals obtain professional advice on Insurance.
Please carry out the following procedure immediately following an incident/accident/injury:
- Photographs should be taken of the occurrence – where it happened, etc
- As soon as possible after the incident, it should be reported to the management staff at the golf course where it occurred reporting as much detail as possible
- Retain all dates, details, receipts, etc pertaining to the incident for future reference
- Your club committee members will assist you to complete the claim form if/when necessary
